About the Role
Bagel Production:
- Prepare and mix bagel dough, following specific recipes and measurements.
- Shape bagel dough into uniform rounds and properly form the characteristic hole in the center.
- Boil bagels in a water bath.
Baking and Oven Operation:
- Load bagels into the oven and monitor baking times and temperatures for optimal results.
- Ensure bagels have a golden-brown crust and a chewy interior texture.
- Maintain and calibrate baking equipment as needed.
Variety and Quality:
- Create a variety of bagel flavors, including plain, sesame, poppy seed, cinnamon raisin, and more.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of bagels, meeting the shop's standards.
Timeliness and Efficiency:
- Work efficiently to meet production quotas, especially during peak hours.
- Monitor the proofing process to ensure bagels rise properly and don't overproof.
- Since our shop opens up in the morning, baker must be sure to show up on time in the early morning to ensure bagels are completed on time.
Recipe Adherence:
- Follow established recipes and guidelines for bagel making, including ingredient proportions and mixing times.
Inventory and Ingredient Management:
- Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages to management.
- Ensure that all ingredients are stored properly to maintain freshness and quality.
Quality Control:
- Inspect bagels for size, shape, and consistency.
- Remove any imperfect or overcooked bagels from production.
Requirements
At least one year of experience in baking.
At least one year of experience in creating dough from scratch.
